Laughing Kookaburra (Dacelo Novaeguineae)
The Kookaburra is one of Australias most iconic birds. It is common across the Northern Beaches and can be heard often in the late evening or early hours singing communally with others.
They don’t migrate and live in the same territory throughout the year. They are also monogamous and retain the same partner for life.
They have a cheeky personality and are known to steal food directly from people’s hands if they’re not careful.
